Joyce Elcock

Joyce is the youngest daughter of John and Veda Burgess, Grand daughter of David Burgess and Mary Anna Shea Burgess. She was born in Westmoreland in 1948 and lived on the family farm outside of Wamego until the family moved to Manhattan in 1954. She met Douglas Elcock at college and they were married in 1972. They have two sons, Matt and John. Both boys graduated for Wamego High School and The University of Kansas. Currently Matt lives in Chicago and John in Austin. Joyce's father, John Michael, was a nephew of Tom Burgess and Joyce's mother, Veda Helen Scott, was a neice of Mabel Scott Burgess. The Elcocks live on the family farm 3 1/2 miles west of Louisville. Her siblings include John "Freddie", George and Judy.
Joyce is a physical therapist working part time in Wamego. She is busy with volunteering at church and in the community, yard and garden work, golfing and fishing. Inside favorites include cooking and reading.
