Mike Burgess & Dr. Barbara Burgess Propose Naming a State Park

They proposed to name State Park 24 in Topeka, the Oregon Trail Kaw River State Park.

Rep. Mike Burgess brought in the big guns (Dr. Barbara Burgess) to testify in favor of an amendment he was proposing to the Kansas House Wildlife, Parks and Toursim Committee. You can read the Topeka Captial-Journal story at http://www.cjonline.com/stories/030706/leg_parkname.shtml

The committee adopted the proposed amendment and voted to pass the bill out favorable for passage. It will now go before the entire House.
