Curtis and Karen get their first look at the 1868 barn foundation

by Karen Meek last modified December 05, 2008 09:40 PM

Still remaining in 2008, on the Goehring land, are the stones from the barn's foundation, built by John I. Burgess. Margaret and John I. Burgess were the great-grandparents of these first cousins, Karen and Curtis, pictured here on their Thanksgiving Day tour. Their Burgess ancestors homesteaded these 80 acres and lived on this land from 1868-1877.
